The Kiwi Masters Ice Hockey Tournament is committed to providing a fun, competitive and safe sporting event. At the time of this notice the Committee is expecting to have around 10-12 teams from within New Zealand, Australia and further abroad.
This tournament is open to both male 35+ and female 30+ players, except for nominated goalies who may be of any age. All players must be in good standing with their respective associations. The competition will involve a round-robin element and a finals element, however all teams will be guaranteed a minimum of 5 games.
The following rules are some of the more important rules to be aware of-
Exemptions to the age and/or player numbers rules above may be permitted by decision of the Organising Committee. Applications should be made by email to admin@kiwimasters.co.nz, and should state the reasons why an exemption is sought and a description of efforts made to avoid needing an exemption.
The Organising Committee retains complete discretion over all exemptions.
The online registration does not allow individual player entry (i.e. team entry only). If you are an individual player wishing to participate in the Kiwi Masters Ice Hockey Tournament please email your contact details to admin@kiwimasters.co.nz and the Organising Committee will try and place you in a team. Please note that there is no guarantee that we will be able to satisfy your request.
Changing rooms, showers, toilets and skate sharpening facilities are located at the venue. Four changing rooms are available and these will be allocated to teams on a rotation allowing plenty of overlap between games.
The Ice Hockey Organising Committee will arrange to have full first aid facilities and trained first aid providers attending the venue throughout the duration of the competition.
A full range of refreshments will be available at the venue. A social room (with bar) will be available to all players while games are being played.
Medals have been replaced by beer mugs and will be awarded to each member of the first, second, and third placed teams. The presentation ceremony will begin as soon as practical after the final game. The winning team will also be presented with the Antarctic Cup.
Additional beer mugs and other merchandise can be purchased at the bar. If you purchase a beer mug and later receive a winner’s mug, simply return your original mug for a refund.
