Terms of Entry
Organising Committee has decided that it may be helpful to provide prospective teams with a document that outlines the Terms of Entry into the competition.
The Terms of Entry for the KiwiMasters Ice Hockey Tournament are-
-
Teams must register as a full Team (minimum of 10 skaters and a goalie) on-line before 1 December 2025.
-
Full payment (for the entire team) must be made by the
20 January 2026. This will enable the Organising Committee to finalise the competition draw and to circulate this with sufficient time to allow teams to make final travel plans.
-
Teams and players must understand that this is a Masters-level event, particularly this year as the Organising Committee has decided not to split teams into different grades. At all times, teams and players are expected to act in the spirit of friendly competition.
-
Male players must be at least 35 years of age, and female players 30 years of age, as at 20 February 2026, unless an exemption is provided by the Organising Committee.
-
Any players who wish to participate in the competition and do not meet the age requirement can apply to the Organising Committee for an exemption. Exemptions are not guaranteed and will only be issued at the discretion of the Organising Committee. Any players seeking an exemption are urged to so this as early as possible.
-
To help keep the competition fair, the Organising Committee reserves the right not to accept teams that seem too strong for the social grade. As a guide, the Organising Committee is likely to consider any team that has more then 1/3 of its composition made up of recent Masters ‘A’ Grade players or National Premier players to be too strong for a Masters social grade competition. Team managers are asked to be mindful of the overall quality of the team when selecting players. We will include an A Grade for skilled players if there’s enough interest.
-
Players may only play for one team.
-
Any individual players who are not affiliated with a team and who wish to play in the competition are asked to contact the Organising Committee directly. The Organising Committee will make every effort to find a team that can accommodate the player (but cannot guarantee a placement).
Please contact the Organising Committee in the event that any of the above Terms of Entry above require clarification. These Terms of Entry are intended to support a fun, friendly and competitive competition.
